Estradiol (E2) is mainly produced by ovarian follicles, corpus luteum and placenta during pregnancy.
E2 clinical significance:
1. Promote the development and maturation of ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus and other sexual organs.
2. Stimulate and maintain breast development, and promote the appearance of female secondary sexual characteristics.
