Hormone Six-panel Examination
Six kinds of examiniation for the sex hormone which is a blood test for follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol (E2), progesterone (P), testosterone (T), and prolactin (PRL). It is used to observe the ovarian function and endocrine function in women and detect any reproductive system disorders. For women of reproductive age, the results of the hormone six kinds of examination are considered the “gold standard” for assessing fertility, hence it is also known as “fertility evaluation” to understand female endocrine function.
It is recommended to check hormone levels related to ovarian reserve and basal endocrine levels on the 2nd to 3rd day after menstruation. To evaluate follicle growth, maturation, and ovulation, it is best to check hormone levels on the 12th to 13th day of the menstrual cycle. To assess luteal/progesterone function, it is preferable to check hormone levels one week before menstruation. For individuals with long periods of amenorrhea and an urgent need to understand the test results, the examination can be done at any time, with the assumption that it is done before menstruation, and the results will be interpreted accordingly to the luteal phase examination results.
