This kit is applicable to the in vitro quantitative detection of concentration of Pepsinogen I (PGI), Pepsinogen II (PGII) and Gastrin 17 in human serum/plasma/whole blood samples, to evaluate gastric oxyntic gland cell function, gastric fundus mucosa lesion and atrophic gastritis.
Description
Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most common cancer and the third
leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. Pepsinogen I (PGI), PGII, and gastrin-17 (G-17) are products
of terminally differentiated gastric mucosa. Serum levels of PGI, PGII, the PGI/II ratio and G-17 could reflect the morphology and function of gastric mucosa,
serving as a "serological biopsy".
Benefits
Early warning: Early detection of gastritis, H. pylori infection, and gastric cancer
Screening value: The test result can be used to evaluate patient's risk of gastric cancer. It's a non-invasive test, which improve the possible of large scale screening.
Disease monitoring: The test result helps in monitoring the effectiveness of treatment and detecting any recurrence of the disease.
