Diagnostic Kit for IgM Antibody to Mycoplasma Pneumoniae (Colloidal Gold)
Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) is a microorganism that falls between a virus and a typical bacterium, belonging to the genus Mycoplasma. It can attach to the surface of the respiratory mucosa, causing lung infections. Due to the lack of cell wall structure found in bacteria, Mycoplasma pneumoniae is resistant to antibiotics that target bacterial cell walls, such as penicillin and cephalosporin.
Pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection can involve the bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli, and lung interstitium. It can be transmitted through contact and respiratory droplets, and can occur throughout the year, but is more common in the autumn and winter seasons.
Mycoplasma pneumoniae is generally susceptible to the population and is more common in children over 5 years old and adolescents. In order to improve the standardization of diagnosis and treatment of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in children, the National Health Commission of China has issued the 2023 edition of “Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines for Mycoplasma pneumoniae Pneumonia in Children.” It points out that MP-IgM antibodies generally appear 4-5 days after infection and can be used as a diagnostic indicator for early infection. The immunochromatographic gold method can qualitatively detect MP-IgM antibodies, which is suitable for rapid screening of pediatric patients in outpatient and emergency departments.
The diagnostic kit for IgM Antibody to Mycoplasma Pneumoniae from WIZ supports testing of whole blood, serum, and plasma. It features short detection time, convenient sampling, small sample volume, strong independent operability, independence from instruments, high sensitivity, and high specificity. It is suitable for initial screening in emergency departments, and is convenient for promotion and use in outpatient and grassroots hospitals.
