A-group Rotavirus is the most common pathogen causing diarrhea in infants aged 6 to 24 months, and is also one of the leading causes of infant mortality. In the early stages of A-group Rotavirus infection, some children may experience frequent vomiting followed by diarrhea. The diarrhea is usually watery or resembles egg drop soup, with a high frequency of bowel movements, sometimes exceeding 10 times a day. It can also lead to varying degrees of dehydration, acid-base imbalance, electrolyte disturbances, and in severe cases, can even be life-threatening. Therefore, timely screening and medical treatment for infants with diarrhea symptoms is crucial.
