The Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT), testing for Gastrointestinal Bleeding: Why It Matters?
Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding is a common medical condition that may lead to serious consequences if left untreated. It is caused by many factors, including ulcers, inflammation, and cancer. Early detection and treatment of GI bleeding are crucial to prevent complications and improve outcomes for patients.
One of the most effective tools for detecting GI bleeding is the fecal immunochemical test (FIT). It is a non-invasive test that can detect even tiny amounts of blood in the stool, an early sign of GI bleeding. The FIT is easy to perform and can be done at home, making it an accessible and convenient option for screening.
The importance of FIT for GI bleeding cannot be overstated. Studies have shown that early detection of GI bleeding through FIT can lead to earlier diagnosis and treatment of underlying conditions, improving outcomes and omitting the need for more invasive diagnostic procedures(Gastroenteroscopy, etc). Additionally, FIT can help identify patients who may be at higher risk for GI bleeding, such as those with a family history of colorectal cancer or those over the age of 50. These patients can then be referred for further testing or surveillance to catch any potential issues early.
Xiamen Wiz Biotech Co., Ltd. had developed and produced the FIT project by own, which includes a qualitative fecal occult blood testing kit (colloidal gold method) and a quantitative fecal occult blood testing kit (fluorescence Immunochromatographic Assay). It is a simple but powerful tool for detecting aforesaid diseases. By detecting the early signs of bleeding, it can help improving the prognosis of patients and saveing the needs for more invasive surgeries.
WIZBIOTECH has always been adhering to the mission of “Focus on diagnostic technology to improve the quality of life”. In the field of gastrointestinal disease diagnosis, WIZ has launched series tools for detecting the basic symptoms that meet the diagnosis and treatment needs, and provide a diagnostic basis for doctors.
